What is golfers elbow?

 

Golfer's elbow is a condition that causes pain on the inner side of the elbow.

 

It is also known as medial epicondylitis and is a common condition among sports players, due to overuse or trauma of the arm caused by overuse of the forearm muscles that bend the wrist toward the palm of the hand.

What are the symptoms of golfers elbow?

  • Pain on the inside of the elbow

  • Difficulty lifting objects

  • Difficulty twisting objects

  • Trouble closing your fingers into a fist

How is golfers elbow diagnosed?

Your elbow consultant can diagnose golfer's elbow through a physical examination of the elbow, as well as a review of the patient's medical history.

 

Imaging tests such as an MRI or an X-ray may also be used to confirm the diagnosis.

How is golfers elbow treated?

Ultimately, the goal of treatment is to reduce the pain and allow you to return to your normal activities.
